Helen is motivated by discovering new and sustainable approaches to improving food security: ensuring scientific knowledge and understanding is translated into real-world benefits. She is interested in eradicating devastating plant diseases, especially as a changing climate expands the global disease landscape.

Helen studied Biology at the University of Bristol, UK. Helen completed her Ph.D. from The Sainsbury Laboratory studying NLR class resistance genes and multiple pathogen recognition in barley. She then joined 2Blades as a Team Leader to manage the NLRseek project involving proprietary technology for functional NLR resistance gene characterisation and validation.
