These common receptors warn plants when danger is present and trigger their innate defenses. Most often, disease results when plants simply lack receptors to certain pathogens or when pathogens bypass defenses. But receptor genes can be added to a crop’s genome, effectively ‘vaccinating’ it.

With additional competence in reduction-to-practice and business development, 2Blades advances durable resistance directly in crops. We have achieved resistance to the major diseases of wheat, soybean, potato, and tomato, validating and de-risking the potential for downstream partners.
