The U.S. 2Blades Group is a new translational research group hosted at the University of Minnesota, which has a renowned history of contributions in agriculture, especially in Plant Pathology, Agronomy, Genetics, Plant and Microbial Biology and Agricultural Economics.

The U of M and 2Blades have partnered on cereal diseases over many years, demonstrating successful field resistance to wheat stem rust. In 2022 the partnership advanced with a 2Blades lab presence. The 2Blades Group and U of M both have a close relationship with the USDA Cereal Disease Lab in St. Paul, and collectively share the aim of protecting wheat, corn, and other cereal crops from their worst diseases

The group is led by Dr. Josiah Mutuku and is staffed by a small team of talented scientists.
